Se dovessimo seguire tutti questi dettami vivremmo una vita infernale

fortunatamente ci sono anche superstizioni positive

Mai passare sotto una scala

Never go under a ladder

Mai appoggiare il cappello sul letto

Never put the hat on the bed

Mai tenere il cucchiaio con la mano sinistra

Never hold the spoon with your left hand

Mai usare in tre lo stesso fiammifero

Never 3 people use the same match

Mai appoggiare le grucce sul letto

Never put the hangers on the bed

Mai incrociare alcunché

Never cross anything

Mai scendere dal letto dalla parte sinistra

Never get out of bed on the left side

Mai spazzare il pavimento prima che sorga il Sole

Never sweep the floor before the sun arises

Mai buttare il guscio intero di un uovo

Mai usare lo stesso asciugamano in più persone: porta litigi

In caso prenderne un pizzico e gettarlo dietro la spalla sinistra

Pericolosissimo regalare le spille o oggetti appuntiti in caso:

 pungere simbolicamente o donare una monetina a chi vi fa il regalo per evitare che l’amicizia si rompa

Cattivi presagi se si incontra una gazza la mattina prima di aver fatto colazione

Se una nubile  inciampa scendendo una scala perderà soldi

Se una nubile passa sotto una scala aperta o appoggiata al muro non si sposerà mai

Se una nubile bacia un uomo con i baffi e le rimane un pelo fra le labbra non si sposerà mai

Se durante la notte fra il 5 e il 6 Gennaio una nubile lascia le scarpe fuori casa ma rivolte verso la porta troverà marito entro la fine dell’anno
