Non è l’unica ma per ora spetta a Kamilo Beach di Big Island, alle Hawaii, il primato di spiaggia più sporca del mondo.

Essendo una spiaggia esposta alle correnti provenienti dal mare aperto naturalmente raccoglie quello che tutto il Pacifico e trasporta, così è’ diventata un accumulo d'immondizia, ed anche quelli che sembrano granelli di sabbia sono la plastica frantumata nel tempo trasformata in granelli rosa, blu, verde, arancio, uccidendo gli animali che se ne nutrono inconsapevolmente…
