Marian Spore Bush

Da prima dentista donna di Bay City, MI

a pittrice autodidatta di New York, nel 1920 subito dopo la morte della madre.

Ad eccezione di alcune la maggior parte delle sue opere sono in bianco e nero

e caratterizzate dalla stesura di colore molto fitta e spessa da creare quasi un basso rilievo.

Ha sempre affermato che i suoi quadri erano direttamente suggeriti dalle anime di artisti 

che comunicavano con lei da "oltre il velo"

quadri che sembravano prevedere eventi, spesso raffiguranti immagini di guerra,

uno è intitolato "New York City",

raffigura due aerei ed edifici in fiamme tra i grattacieli di New York.

Edward Alden Jewell, critico d'arte per il New York Times, disse 

"Tutti i dipinti di guerra sono di natura simbolica, se accettati come manifestazioni di fenomeni psichici"

Marian ha inoltre scritto un libro semi-autobiografico intitolato "Loro", (pubblicato postumo nel 1947)

e servito alla mensa per i poveri di New York City per anni.

Dopo la sua morte sempre a New York City è stata organizzata una grande mostra retrospettiva

Marian Spore Bush has been the first woman dentist in Bay City, MI,

but after his mother's death self-taught painter in New York in 1920.

With the exception of some the most her works are black and white

and characterized by very dense and thick brushwork to create almost a bas-relief.

She always said that her paintings were directly suggested by the souls of artists 

who were communicating with her from “beyond the veil”

paintings that seemed to predict events, often depicting images of war

one of his paintings is titled "New York City",

depicts two planes and burning buildings between the skyscrapers of New York.

Edward Alden Jewell, art critic for the New York Times, said

"All war paintings are symbolic in nature, if accepted as manifestations of psychic phenomena"

Marian also wrote a semi-autobiographical book called "They" (published posthumously in 1947)

and operated at the soup kitchen in New York City for years.

After her death a large retrospective exhibition of her work was organized in New York
